The USGA has revamped the way golf handicaps will be calculated beginning in 2020.
Some of the key changes are:
Using 8 of 20 scores instead of 10 of 20.
Net double bogey instead of Equitable stroke control for score adjustment.
Slope Rating, Course Rating, and PAR will be used to determine course handicaps. Playing conditions will also be a factor.
Handicaps will be updated DAILY as opposed to one every two weeks.
There will no longer be 9 hole handicaps, nine holes may still be posted but your handicap will be your handicap regardless of how many holes are played.
ALL HANDICAPS WILL BE ISSUED BY THE USGA!! so you might as well support your club and get your handicap through us.
These are just some of the highlights of the new system, for complete info go to http://www.usga.org/whs.
